Have been busy entering exhibitions. Such alot of stuff to put in, and make the artworks. Warwick is sent off and now working on the Fibre International exhibition. Fun though.
I am a Textile Artist living and working in Australia. I exhibit and sell my art at numerous galleries and also run workshops in Australia and the UK.
Felting is a magical process, as you are never entirely sure of the outcome. Its versatility makes it possible to create a variety of textured surfaces that can be moulded and sculpted. My artworks are in response to my surroundings, which can be harsh, unforgiving and rugged., but at times also soft and subtle. Depth is created by layering different coloured wool fibres and silk organza to produce unique effects. Relationships are developed and atmosphere created; echoes of undefined scenes altered and enhanced by hand stitching... I feel this encourages the audience to look and look again and make their own responses to the artworks.
I sent mine off too. Thanks for the push!
